Who made your clothes?
Survivors of human trafficking and refugees seeking asylum have hand made every Lefko piece. They are taught tailoring by our partner Social Fashion Factory (SOFFA) in Votanikos, Athens. Our makers for our 1st batch were: Shafigheh, Wakil, Mamadoo, Masuma, Ziya, Resa, Sayd and Fatemeh.

Why make in Greece?
Greece has had over 1 million refugees and migrants smuggled through Turkey just in 2015 and early 2016. This has resulted in Greece being #2 in Europe in the Global Slavery index. All the while Greece has been in a deep recession since 2010 and has the highest unemployment rate in Europe.

How am I making a difference by buying a Lefko?
You provide direct employment to our makers as they get paid for every piece of garment they produce. They also develop the skills needed to operate in an open market economy, become less dependent on their male partners and stay away from exploitation.
