Linen - Midweight

Libeco | Belgium

All our designs are made of linen as it is zero-impact fiber; it requires no irrigation, results in no waste and is fully biodegradable. We decided to partner with Libeco due to their long history in linen, since 1858, and also for their sustainability DNA running carbon neutral weaving mills since 2014. The linen is Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certified and the flax comes from a group of French farmers united under the Terre De Lin cooperative.  We have used Libeco for GAIA / NIKI / CLIO

Linen - Lightweight

Savvidis Textiles | Greece

In order to support our small local weavers in Greece we chose to source our lightweight linen from Savvidis Textiles, a family run business who started weaving back in 1948. Savvidis sources his yarn from Linificio, an Italian spinner, who source their flax from the Terre De Lin cooperative. We have used Savvidis linen for the men's shirts and the IRIS

Buttons

Courtney & Co | United Kingdom

We decided to only use buttons for our collection to ensure 100% natural material; zippers are typically made out of polyester and come with a hard to trace supply chain. Our supplier Courtney & Co makes sustainable buttons out of corozo which is derived from the nut of the Tagua Palm sourced from Trafino in Ecuador. Courtney & Co uses only Oeko-tex standard 100 and AZO free certified dyes. The tagua nut falls when ripe which means that there is no human harvesting or cutting of any part of the tree! If you are not excited yet about corozo check out this short video which explains how important the Tagua nut is to the environment and the people of Ecuador.

Lining & Thread

Selected Textiles SA | Greece

80% of Europe's cotton is produced in Greece; unfortunately the cotton industry in Greece has been shrinking as it has to compete with Turkey, China and India. It was hence an easy decision to go local for our cotton needs. All our cotton yarn is ginned and spinned by Selected Textiles, who source the raw cotton from nearby farms, and it is then weaved by Savvidis. We chose Selected Textiles due to their commitment to the Better Cotton Initiative.

Packaging

Noissue | New Zealand

Noissue supplies us with eco-friendly tissue paper which we use to wrap in your garment. It is completely acid-free and made of wood pulp sourced from sustainably-managed forests that are Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified. It’s also printed with soy-based ink, a sustainable alternative to traditional petroleum-based ink.

Noissue also supplies us with 100% compostable mailers, which is the perfect alternative to plastic poly mailer bags. The compostable mailers are made from a combination of PBAT, a bio based polymer which is compostable, and PLA which is made up of plant materials such as regular field corn and wheat straw.
